Arbitration

It is a private process of conflict resolution in which one or more third parties decide how the conflict will be resolved.  The role of the disputants is to tell their stories only.  The decision reached by the

  • More transparent
  • Less expensive
  • All views considered
  • There is more freedom
  • Time consuming
  • Distort information
  • Can be biased
  • It is expensive
  • Attempts to judge
  • It is slow third party may be accepted or rejected by the parties in conflict.
  • Should be impartial  Acceptable by both sides
  • Strikes a deal
